EAGLES MERE, PENNSYLVANIA -- The 36th Annual Eagles Mere Art and Craft Festival, which draws more than 9,000 people, will be held rain or shine on Saturday and Sunday, August 12 and 13 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. The event, sponsored by Eagles Mere Village Incorporated, is the largest art and craft festival in the area, featuring 100 juried professional craftspeople and fine artists from across the country. The Festival is held on the beautiful Village Greene in the heart of historic Eagles Mere.
To participate in the show, craftspeople must apply by submitting slides of their work, which are then judged by a panel of jurors. Those with the highest scores are invited to attend. Show-goers will be treated to artisans selling pottery, blown glass, leather goods, fine art, photography, handmade clothing, jewelry, weaving, carved wood and a variety of fine American art and craft. Some artisans will give demonstrations of their skills.
There is a $5 admission to attend the Festival; children under 16 are free. Part of the proceeds will benefit the Eagles Mere Museum fund. In the past fifteen years, the show has helped raised over $45,000 for the museum and over $30,000 for other local charities including many area Lions Clubs, the Laporte Volunteer Fire Company and the Eagles Mere Ambulance Association.
